The Victoria River District (VRD) and the Barkly region are two of the largest pastoral areas in the Northern Territory. This booklet provides a snapshot of the most common and noticable plants that the reader will encounter in the VRD and Northern Barkly. It provides an opportunity to identify and learn more about the local flora in these environments.
This booklet is largely self explanatory, with botanical terminology kept to a minimum and a focus placed on photographs to help identify the plants. The text covers key features to help with identification, including bark, leaves, flowers, fruit and the plant's growth form (shrub, tree or herb).
